"Young Street" is Reggie's undenied sound established around the streets of New York City. To pinpoint the origin of his ongoing legacy Young's never reluctant to say Brooklyn and Harlem. On his latest release, Reggie subverts the meaning of genres with intensified funk infused with rock, soul, jazz and gospel. Plainly stated, "It ain't smooth jazz". "Young Street" is bedded in funky rhythm's, layered with powerful, never understated, horn lines and lush live string arrangements. Reggie's smooth but gritty vocals earmarks those of Andre 3000 (of Outcast) along with Reggie's melodic bass riffs paraphrasing his vocal ideas. On the other hand his music has all the instrumental dance signs of the Trombone Shorty band and the edgy Robert Randolph Family Band. This album show's off Reggie's ability to standout without being redundant. Quite frankly, you want more. I mean who doesn't love bass?
